Gen-Eco Digital Printing on Fibre Cement

Gen-Eco digital printing provides architects, designers and shop-fitters with the flexibility of choosing from a limitless range of designs.

Due to the increasing stringent standards of the Australian Building Codes relating to flammable cladding, wall and ceiling materials, many traditional materials no longer meet a group 1 fire rating. These positive changes can unfortunately limit your  creativity, as many public spaces require group 1 fire rated materials all, such as fibre cement and FR MDF.

Thanks to the non-combustibility of our ink, any digital print finish on a group 1 fire rated product will remain group 1. These substrates include:
  • Compressed and standard fibre cement for external applications such as soffit linings and wall cladding
  • FR MDF for internal wall and ceiling linings
  • Echopanel® has group 1 fire rating, sound attenuation, low VOC emissions and is made from 60% recycled material.
The below images are of Hoop Pine Printed FC sheets (Group 1 Fire rated) for Pottsville High School soffits.

Featured Project | Sunshine Plaza

'The Boardwalk' - Sunshine Plaza, Maroochydore QLD

Gen-Eco provided digitally printed Spotted Gum panels for the refurbishment of the Sunshine Plaza project.

As one of the briefs was to supply a Group 1 fire rated material, we supplied a range of Spotted Gum panels which were digitally printed on James Hardie 9mm Exotec compressed fibre cement panels.

The panels were installed horizontally as soffit linings along the boardwalk area for this part of the Sunshine Plaza upgrade.

In addition to being Group 1 Fire rated, unlike timber linings such as exterior plywood, the printed CFC does not require any ongoing maintenance, such as re-polishing.
